Panorama Trail, Yosemite, on a smoky Fall day.

The kids popped up to Yosemite to do their annual hike in the Sierra, and chose the Panorama Trail, from Glacier Point down to the Valley - 8 miles.

Wonderful Fall colors, and a smoky haze that gave a unique tone to the light.  Soon, it will be winter, and this will all be cleared out and buried in white.

Above, vaguely seen Nevada Falls in the shade.

After several miles, Nevada Falls from near the lip.  Typical low water at this time of year.

Everyone likes a ground squirrel.

Last year's conquest, Cloud's Rest, seen from the west looking east, and from a great distance.

The smoky Mist Trail nearly in the valley.  I love the tone of the light.

  1. Love your photos, beautiful country.
Damn ground squirrels are a pain if you run livestock.
